Sassy Jessie's Dream is about raising awareness for the welfare and rights of animals and was created in the memory of my beloved bunny Jessie. She was of course a typical sassy female that I'm sure shares at least some of my views on the animal world. She helped me enforce rules on the farm with the other pets. The barn cat especially seemed to enjoy hanging out around her when she was outside, one of her favorite places to be, and sometimes he would climb into her run to lounge on top of her house and I would allow it for a little while and then tell him to get out. He well thought he belonged there but no, when Jessie heard me say this to him, instead of just allowing him to be there as she had previously, she then proceeded to go after him growling, baring her teeth, and made sure he got out right away.
When she had first met our house cats, our one kitty would lay on top of her cage when she when she was in it. When she was in her run, the cat would get in there with her too and play with her by batting at her with her paws. This was the same cat that taught her every trick she could think of to escape her first run, simply just in the kitchen with chairs lying in the doorways to hopefully keep her there, and it took many alterations to keep her there longer as she found more ways to escape. From jumping over the chairs, to finding out she could squeeze through the sides of the chairs. She definitely kept my hands full, keeping her out of trouble for any amount of time. Also during the time she would spend in this run, she would proceed to chew my Mom’s vacuum cord (sorry Mom, thankfully Daddy managed to fix it, whew!), and mine and my sister's speakers, that had brought down from our bedroom to play music on while I worked in the kitchen because while I couldn't trust Jessie to be alone and not get into trouble, or so I thought. As it turned out, I can't turn my back either.
After a while of the cat playing with Jessie this way, by the way the cat's name is Kitty, I decided to teach Jessie to play back with the cat. As it would turn out, this would end the animals playing together nicely. After that Jessie would not tolerate the cats in her run or on top of her cage most times. She would then proceed to chase and attack the cats to keep them out of her area. But with the dog, which was quite a bit bigger than her although just as scared of her as she was with her, she would keep her distance along with the dog.
