I created Sassy Jessie's Dream in memory of my beloved bunny Jessie to raise awareness for animals. I am currently a vegetarian and plan to become a vegan in the near future. I am trying to spread of my views and share my beliefs with the rest of the world. Animals have feelings and can feel pain just like us. To warn you now I will not sugar coat my opinions and what I think of the animal industries. I believe in getting the word and making sure my opinion is very clear and what I think is acceptable in the world of animals. I know there is other people and organizations that share my views and I hope they are recognized for the good they do. To a lot of the world animals are there just to mass produce and kill them for the good of people. Pigs are one of the smartest animals that are mass produced for human consumption. Female breeding pigs or sows are kept in cages called sow crates during gestation and motherhood. Pigs need stimulation and room to move but the crates don't allow this so in the end they go crazy. It is said that pigs are stupid and sow crates are needed because the mother pigs will lay on and crush their young, but that's because the sows are smart, they know what is going to happen so they will kill their young to save them from a life of torture. Cattle are also have brains, They form social groups or herds and they have bonds with their calves. In the dairy industry cows are kept pregnant constantly to ensure a constant supply of milk for the farmers to take and sell to humans. The milk is meant for their calves. There is a reason why people have allergies and are unable to drink or even eat dairy products. We weren't meant to drink the milk. Dairy milk is meant to turn a calf into a 300 pound animal in a year. That's the reason that whole milk is high fat. Cattle aren't meant to produce milk like that, it reduces their natural lifespan to only a small fraction of their original lifespan.
